Ingredients
- 2 cans chickpeas, drained
- 1 Cucumber, diced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- ½ red onion, minced
- 1 green chili, minced
- 1 tsp chaat masala (or cumin + extra lime)
- Juice of 1½ limes
- ½ cup yogurt, whisked
- Cilantro + mint
- Crushed papadums or tortilla chips, for crunch
Method
- Toss the chickpeas with the Cucumber, tomatoes, onion, and chili.
- Season with the chaat masala, lime juice, and salt — chaat should taste LOUD: sour, spicy, and salty all talking over each other.
- Rest 10 minutes so the chickpeas absorb the argument.
- Drizzle the whisked yogurt over — cooling streams through the heat, the chaat signature.
- Finish with herbs and a fistful of crushed crunchy things on top. Serve immediately, before the crunch surrenders. Street food that travels beautifully into lunchboxes.
